little love {Makalee}
This weekend my dear friends the Kidd’s came over for a session with their little Makalee. Mom came prepared with cake, baloons and lots and lots of pink! We had so much fun. Makalee was a premie and had made HUGE strides since the day she was born. She is all caught up on weight and is a healthy one year old now! She was so adorable and we had lots of fun watching her dig into her cake!
{Winter Love}
A couple of weeks ago I received an email from my good friend Amy of Amy Carroll Photography and the subject line said, “Crazy, I know”. I knew this was going to be fun. Amy and I have been planning to put a project together for a while and this was just the time to do it. Within a week she had collaborated everything from set ideas to hair, makeup and wardrobe! We needed something to brighten up this dull, down-time in our schedules!
Enter Daisy of Pixel&Hank, Stacy Jensen, with fabulous makeup and hair skills, September’s Bride for giving us an awesome tux that would go perfectly with the polka-dot bow tie from Daisy, and of course, Matt and Jen who were way brave getting out there and freezing with us!
Of course a big huge thank you to Amy’s parents who let a troop of girls take over their house and property, and to Nancy for the wonderful chicken soup to warm us up after shooting! Samantha {little love}
Tonight I had the pleasure of photographing little Samantha at her house with proud mama and daddy. Samantha was a whole one week old today! I had so much fun taking her first photos. I hope you guys love them!

Leigh & Anthony 11.12.11
Leigh and Anthony had quite possibly one of the most elegant and fabulously put together weddings we’ve ever had the pleasure of being a part of. Not that all of our weddings aren’t amazing, but this one really took my breath away. The ceremony was held at Old St Marys Church in Detroit. Walking in the door, I was just in awe and didn’t even know where to begin shooting. I literally had to stand still and just take it all in. The reception was held at The Colony Club which we’ve heard wonderful things about but never had the pleasure of shooting there until now. It did not disappoint. It was amazing in every way. The staff was wonderful, we have never had a staff introduce themselves upon our arrival and let us know there were there if we needed them. What? Amazing people and venue all around. Leigh and Tony were so wonderful to work with, as well as two of the most energetic and happy people I’ve ever had the pleasure of working with. You could tell how absolutely over the moon Leigh was to be marrying Tony.
We worked with the fabulous Amy at Amy Carroll Photography. She’s amazing at what she does, and every time we shoot with her I just know it’s going to be a great day! The event was also run by Alison at Viva La Diva who I have to say is simply amazing. All in all it was just wonderful all around and I could not have asked for a better day. Natalie & Chris 11.18.11
Natalie and Chris had a beautiful intimate wedding up at Castle Farms in Charlevoix. Ian and I had never shot here though we had heard it was beautiful from friends. It did not disappoint. Ian and I had a great day with this couple and their friends and family. Everyone was so fun! Dinner was served Thanksgiving style and it was Ah-mazing! Adrianne & Dan 11.11.11
Adrianne and Dan wanted to really surprise their guests. They planned an engagement party and decided to make it a wedding! It was so much fun seeing the shock on the faces of their guests. They had a great little venue Art Alley in downtown Lansing. It was a very fun night, and we were happy to be a part of it. Here’s their preview video!

Adrianne and Dan had a super awesome plan to throw the guests at their engagement party a curve ball and get married! I was so excited they chose me to do their photos and video.
